Obituary of Michael Marc Saposnick

Michael Marc Saposnick, 77 , formerly of New York City passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home in Canajoharie, NY with his loving family by his side.

Michael was born in the Bronx on September 10, 1946 to the late Harry Saposnick and Ruth Horowitz Saposnick.

He attended Martin VanBuren High School, the American Music and Drama Academy and later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The New School in NYC.  Michael was an actor by trade and passion. Over the years he was proud to be featured in numerous plays, movies, and television shows. He was most often recognized for his characters in Law and Order as well as Sex and the City. In his spare time Michael loved to play sports like basketball, football, and softball. He was an accomplished artist who loved to paint and he was a gifted musician adept at playing several instruments, most notably the clarinet which he loved to play for family, friends, and crowds wherever he was performing. Other hobbies included traveling, learning to speak French, and beating his wife at Scrabble. More than anything Michael loved to be with his family and friends.

Michael was united in marriage to Carol Horwood on October 13, 1984.

In addition to his wife of 39 years Michael is survived by his daughter Lily Saposnick, son Eli Saposnick, sister Shelley Saposnik, Aunt and Uncle Mimi and Norman Horowitz as well as several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Michael's wishes there will be no formal services at this time.
