Linda was an awesome friend and she will forever be in our hearts.
I met Linda 40 years ago at our wedding. She was my husband’s work supervisor. Twenty four years ago Linda started taking horseback riding lessons here at Springer’s farm. Those lessons continued through this year.
Linda always had a listening ear. We encouraged each other through life’s ups and downs as we rode and spent time together. About 14 years ago Linda joined our Bible study group. She enjoyed learning about the Bible, sharing life and praying together with us.
She was a barn friend and mom to many teenagers. She had a positive influence on the lives of my students.
Linda’s favorite activity at the barn was drill team. She participated in many drill team performances including Mucker Ella (Cinderella), The. Wizard of Oz, Granny’s Canadian capers, Granny’s Kidnapping, Beauty and the Beast, Esther, the dragon in little people’s land, Alice in wonderland and a variety of other performances. I really appreciated that Linda was very good at remembering drills. She kept our drill team riders on track. She also had good ideas to improve drills.
Linda loved to try new things on horseback. Garrocha, parade flags, western, English, dressage, drill team, she even did some vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) and a scavenger hunt. Recently Linda helped teach horsemanship and served as a drill master.
During lessons Linda was always happy to experiment with new riding ideas and techniques. We enjoyed taking apart new ideas and determining how they affect both horse and rider. Yup, she was my guinea pig and she loved it. She was such a special friend.
