Obituary of David J. Gomula Jr.

Mr. David J. "DJ"  Gomula, Jr., 49, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 24, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. 

He was born on September 18, 1973 the son of Nancy Pietri Gomula and David J. Gomula Sr. both of Amsterdam.   He was a 1992 graduate of Amsterdam High School.  

DJ was a certified culinary arts professional and worked as a chef in many restaurants in New Jersey and New York.  He was currently employed as  Food Service Coordinator for Price Chopper/Market 32 in Glenville, NY.   He had a passion for cooking, enjoyed hiking, and was an avid NY Giants and NY Yankees fan and was of the Roman Catholic Faith.

DJ is survived by his loving parents, his mother, Nancy Pietri Gomula of Amsterdam and his father, David J. Gomula Sr. of Amsterdam.  His three daughters,  Alyssa, Abigail and Leah Gomula.  He is also survived by the love of his life, Lori Beck of Amsterdam as well as his sisters, Kathy Gomula and Joan Krohn.   Also surviving are his three nephews, Jon Konik, Danny Kozlowski and Josiah Mosso Gomula and his three nieces, Alexandra, Aubrey and Ashley Krohn.    Stepchildren, Jake and Camryn.    Aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.  He also had a great love of his fur babies, Kaia and Loki.

Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.  Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Amsterdam.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.   Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
