Obituary of Beverly E. Lorey
Beverly E. Lorey, age 86, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. She was born May 21, 1936 in Albany, the daughter of the late Scott and Dorothy (Mead) Weir. She was a 1954 graduate of Northville Central School and then a 1956 graduate of Albany Business College.
Bev was a member of the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church and its Bell Choir, the Daughters of the American Revolution and a former member of the Marine Corps. League Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and had recently traveled to Washington state to meet her newest great-granddaughter, Eleanor.
She is survived by four children, Mark S. Wagar (Kelly), Paul A. Wagar (Pat), Linda A. Wagar (Rick Mosetti) and Robin Ducharme (Gary Gray); stepchildren, Sharon Brower and Thomas Lorey (Shirley); five grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan, Nicole, Virginia and Zachary; five step-grandchildren, Jill, Jane, Todd, Christopher, and Ryan; eleven greatgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Lester A. Wagar and Richard Lorey; and a brother, Clayton Weir.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 3 pm Saturday, March 4th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
A Celebration of Life will take place 2 pm Sunday, March 5th at the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St; Mayfield, with the Rev. Dr. Bonnie Orth officiating.
Interment will take place in the spring at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
