Obituary of Roberta A. Daley

Roberta A. Daley, 66, of Amsterdam, NY passed into eternal life on Monday, August 8, 2022.  Born on January 1, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Veronica Vietkevich Daley and lived in Amsterdam her entire life.

She graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Fulton- Montgomery Community College and the College of Saint Rose.  She was employed at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory for 35 years, retiring in 2011.

Roberta was a woman of great faith.  She was a devout Catholic Christian and attended the former churches of St. Casimir and St. John the Baptist.  She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and was a member of the Ladies of Charity, The Christian Women, St. Mary’s Fundraising Committee, St. John’s Rosary Circle, and the GEWC Golf League.  She also volunteered for many organizations.  Her most treasured duty, was being a Eucharistic Minister.

Roberta enjoyed following the NYY, playing golf, visiting the 19^th hole, annual trips to Las Vegas, Cape Cod, exploring Europe, visiting the Hawaiian Islands and spending time with friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Gail Daley Dietrich.

Survivors include her beloved niece, and partner in crime, Hanna Dietrich and her great niece, Brooklyn; and her brother-in-law, David Dietrich; and many friends.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 11a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. and Rev. Pascal Iannotti.  Burial will follow in the family plot at Fairview Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 10a.m. until 11a.m. prior to the Funeral Mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Early Childhood Education Center, 517 Bradt Street, Schenectady, NY 12306 to provide education to developmentally disabled children, so they can strive to receive the opportunities like Roberta’s grandniece, Brooklyn, has over the past two years.
