Obituary of Salvatore C. Furnare
Salvatore “Sal” C. Furnare,75, of Fultonville passed away July 21, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Born in Schenectady on January 23, 1947, he is the son of the late Francis and Rose (Francis) Furnare.
Survived by his loving wife whom he married on November 8, 1975, Michele E. (Dillon) Furnare of Fultonville. His loving children Christopher (Laurie) Furnare of Fultonville, Patrick (Rebecca) Furnare of Fultonville, and John (Kerrin) Furnare of Florida. Survived by his grandchildren whom he adored Emily, Grace, Luke, Haley, Jack, Dominic, and Chase. Sal is also survived by many cousins.
Besides his parents Sal is predeceased by his grandson Maxwell Patrick Furnare.
During his lifetime Sal was a graduate of Linton High School class of 1965, and then he went on to college at Suny Plattsburg, and spent his entire career as a Science Teacher at the Fonda Fultonville Central School. Sal was a member of St. Cecilia’s Church, a member of the Fultonville Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Booster Club at FFCS, and was a boy scout and cub scout leader. He also taught adult education classes, and taught Hunter Safety Courses in the area. Sal had a tremendous love for nature, and he taught his children and grandchildren how to hunt and fish.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday July 25, 2022, at the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Home ,15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072 from 4 to 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday July 26, 2022, at 1 PM at St. Cecilia’s Church, 29 Broadway, Fonda NY 12068 with Father Christopher Welch as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the family plot of the Maple Avenue Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Sal can be made to the St. Cecilia’s Church, 29 Broadway, Fonda NY 12068 or to the Frothingham Free Library, 28 W. Main Street, Fonda, NY 12068.
