For more than 30 years I have known Lydia to be a warm, caring, delightful person, devoted to her family and quick with a friendly smile. In recent years I saw her mostly at professional meetings where she accompanied Tony and supported his many research activities. In her own professional life she cared for people who were desperate for a helping hand. But her main focus was always Anthony Jr., Elizabeth, and Cassandra. Although her family's loss is immeasurable they are blessed that Lydia was the central figure in their lives.

I worked with Lydia in Detroit and Ann Arbor - she was THE sweetest, most generous, person - she just lit up the room she walked into with her beautiful smile and kindness and care. So very sorry to hear of her passing - my thoughts and prayers to her family.
