I am saddened to learn of the passing of Kathy. We were classmates at the College of St. Rose. I remember her as someone who always had a smile on her face and who possessed the ability to spread joy wherever she was. It is no wonder she was finalist as Teacher of the Year. Kathy was filled with kindness, made learning fun, and genuinely cared for each and everyone of her students. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Miss Guarnier was my fourth grade teacher at Howe Elementary School back in 1980. I have such fond memories of her. How she loved the Yankees, I remember our Halloween parades and how she dressed up as a Yankee fan. My deepest condolences to her family. She will always be one of my favorite teachers.

Dear Celia,
Please accept my condolences on the death of your sister. We were Gloversville "buddies" at St. Rose and when teaching. She will be missed.
I just learned of her passing and will not be able to get to Gloversville today. When you have a date for the internment, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Sheila Donnelly Wotzak

I have not seen Ms Guarnier in almost 35 years but I still think about her all the time. She was my 4th grade teacher at Howe School and the most inspiring, influential educator I ever had. Ms. Guarnier had high standards but made learning fun and exciting at the same time. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel special and important. I suffered a back injury the year I was in her class and remember her genuine concern and caring about my well-being. It meant the world to me at the time, and still does. She was one of those people who was born to teach, and I can imagine there are hundreds and hundreds of Howe graduates who would say the same. What I remember most about Ms. Guarnier is her infectious smile and laugh. She was a true spreader of joy and the world was better with her in it. My thoughts go out to her family and friends.

I remember working with Kathy as our secretary on weekends at the hospital. She was a real pleasure to know all those years. She could multi-task and do it right. Always on the ball about what was going on. And always had an interesting view on a topic of discussion. Condolences to her family and close friends.
