Obituary of Thomas E. Jenks
Thomas E. “Tommy” Jenks, 49, of Canajoharie, NY died peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany surrounded by his family. Born on May 18, 1972 he was the son of JoAnn Marcellino Jenks and the late Elbert L. “Lee” Jenks, Jr.
A lifelong area resident of Canajoharie, Tommy attended local schools and was a 1990 graduate of Canajoharie High School. He then went to FMCC, where he obtained a construction degree. He was employed with A&K Slip Forming, Inc. for nearly 25 years as an operating engineer.
The life of any party, Tom always knew how to have a good time and push the limits. He was kind and generous soul, always willing to help with a smile, but was never afraid to share his thoughts. Family and friends meant the world to him. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Christina “Crissy” Bartholomew Jenks; two children, Kaitlyn and Thomas Jenks; his mother, JoAnn Jenks; one sister, Emelie Hayden; five nieces and nephews, Andrew, Anthony, Michael, Caleigh, and Joey; one uncle and aunt, Bob Jenks and his wife Ann; his mother and father-in-law, Larry and Mari Bartholomew; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Amy Bartholomew; cousins and extended members of the Jenks and Marcellino families; and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 115 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Click here to watch the Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas "Tommy" Jenks
Private burial will take place in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 3 until 7p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Masks are required for all services.
