Obituary of Robert G. Bradt
Mr. Robert G. Bradt, 86, of the Town of Amsterdam, NY died suddenly on Friday, October 29, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side. Born on April 14, 1935 he was the son of the late Bennett and Anna Small Bradt Sr.
A lifelong area resident, Bob attended local schools. For 37 years he served the federal government, working at Stratton Air National Guard Base retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. He was proud of his military service and enjoyed working.
On July 8, 1956 he was united in marriage to Maryrose LaBate Bradt. That union was blessed with five sons. Bob enjoyed woodworking, going to the Mountain Top Hunting Club, taking care of his home, watching NASCAR and was a member of the Charlton golf league. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Bennett Bradt Jr., and Arlene Fick.
Survivors include his wife, Maryrose; five sons, Mark A. Bradt and his wife Terry, James R. Bradt, Stephen G. Bradt and his wife Sonja, Thomas J. Bradt and his wife Jackie and Gary M. Bradt and his wife Vanessa; ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, Justin, Alyssa (Zack) Curosh, Stephen, Alexandra, Ryan, Jennifer (Joshua) Pelletier, Eric and Deanna; three great grandchildren, Waylon, Archie and Jacob; one brother-in-law, Anthony LaBate and his wife Jackie; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4 until 7p.m. at the funeral home. All are invited to attend and masks are required.
