Obituary of Matthew Dutcher
Mr. Matthew Dutcher, 50, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 16, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
He was born in Amsterdam on December 13, 1970, the son of William and Sandra Dutcher. He was raised in Fort Plain, NY and was a graduate of Fort Plain High School. Matthew went on to graduate from Herkimer County Community College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta.
Matt was employed at Herkimer County ARC, The Oneonta ARC and later Liberty Enterprises in Amsterdam. He also held employment at Albany Medical Center, Montgomery County Probation and last as the Patient Safety Coordinator and ER Navigator at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
Some of Matt’s favorite pastimes include camping, collecting antiques, golfing, reading, and playing guitar in his band Rump.u.s. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. Matt’s passion in life had everything to do with music. Whether it was learning, listening, teaching, singing, or creating music, it brought him overall happiness.
Matthew and his family attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as Vice President at one time of the Church Council.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Cindy. His beloved children, son, Camden Tulloch and daughters, Allyson Magan and Braeden Danielle. His parents, William and Sandra Dutcher of Fort Plain, NY. His twin brother, Michael and his wife Sarah Dutcher of Morris, NY.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Margaret and Alfred Susi and paternal grandparents, Clifford and Helen Dutcher. He is also predeceased by two dear friends, pump buddy, Alex Carter and dear friend, Connor Gage, who always admired Matt. Matt’s beloved puppy Copper, was also waiting to welcome him into Heaven.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday October 22, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 42 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Funeral services will follow Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor William Hodgetts presiding. Please join the family for a luncheon in fellowship hall after the services.
