Family and Friends,
What a profound loss! It is difficult to compose words that explain the emptiness Brian's passing has left me with. Hence, the long delay in creating my condolences. Growing up with Brian was a blessing. We enjoyed many camping trips and day picnics as a family. The leaches from Mason Lake well that wasn't fun, so much for free camping. However, running from riding down the natural slate slide at Wagner's Hollow before the dam came rushing in! A huge relief after being so scared hearing the rushing waters, the screamimg parents " the dam is coming" slipping on the moss to get to shore, but we made it. Spending hours catching and releasing minnows, not to mention skipping slate across the water with our many cousins. Whose went the furthest? Then the East coast trip in a two door Subaru with little money. We were 18 had two cassettes, Pink Floyd wish you were here and The Greatful Dead into the dark. No radio but we sang each song over and over and laughed at the adventure. Brian was one of a kind! He has been the only person I know that truly lived in the present. He never worried about tommorow and certainly did not know a stranger. He lived life on his terms, with a smile and greeting everyone with a huge hug. The many times I dropped into one of his places, it was always spotless. I mean spotless!! Smelling like the maids were just there. He had a great sense of humor and would recant a story and have you in tears from laughing. He would laugh at you too. I recall visiting his childhood home and bats flying around at dusk trying to play basketball. I would run screaming quiting the game as he laughed. Like you could win hoops against any of the Ward brothers. I could go on and on with stories. Everyone he knew could as well. Thank you April, for creating Shane and Alex with him, also sharing Dustin with him and our family. Brian loved his children, he loved all kids as he remained a kid at heart. Brian's pets were like little humans to him too. Brian thought he was the boss but we all know the dogs had his number. His passing in his sleep was unexpected, but he lived each day he was here on Earth. I miss him and will continue keeping his memories that bring me smiles.
Grandma Brown said to me " Time doesn't heal anything, it just teaches us how to live with the pain"
Always Love, Tracy
