Obituary of Brandon Scott Barker

Brandon Scott Barker, age 38, of Gloversville, died Monday, August 2, 2021 at home.

He was born October 30, 1982 in Amsterdam, the son of John and Pamela Satterlee Barker. Brandon was a 2000 graduate of Gloversville High School and attended SUNY Brockport. He was employed as technician for Time Warner and Comcast for many years. His first love was the Gloversville basketball program and he became a coach for AAU Basketball. Brandon was an avid sports fan as well as playing in adult basketball and soccer leagues. He loved to follow his favorite sports teams, the New York Giants, New York Yankees and Liverpool FC. Brandon enjoyed playing golf at any opportunity and was an avid book reader. He loved music and followed the "Disco Biscuits" band wherever they performed. Brandon taught himself to play the mandolin. He adored his daughter, Isla, and her mother Angela. He loved to be with his family and spoke of them often with his many friends, who all loved him. 

Brandon is survived by his mother, Pamela Dooling (Sean); his father, John Barker (Christy); a daughter, Isla Barker; siblings,  Cassandra Agresta (Tony), Brent Barker (Abbey) and Garrett Dooling; grandparents, Gene Satterlee and Lucille Barker; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew and many beloved cousins. Brandon is also survived by his special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Romeyne and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bentley. They have been by his side when he needed them most.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Barbara Satterlee and DeWayne Barker; uncles, DeWayne Joseph Barker and Gary Barker; and an aunt, Janet Duesler.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Friday.
