Obituary of Michael E. Shultis

      Mr. Michael E. "Mr. Mike" Shultis, 65, of Amsterdam, passed away Friday  June 4, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, with his loving family at his side.

     Born on August 23, 1955 a son of the late Harold E. and Shirley V. Geier Shultis.  He was a lifelong Duanesburg and Amsterdam area  resident and was a graduate of Duanesburg High School.

    Mike  was first employed by the Freihofer's Baking Co. In Nelliston, NY.  He then worked for most of his career in the Greater Amsterdam School District as a Head Custodian.  He made many friends while employed and was known to all the students as "Mr. Mike". 

      Mike enjoyed riding Motorcycles and enjoyed the many rides in the Adirondacks around various local lakes.  Above all he enjoyed being with his family especially spending time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren.    He will be missed by all who knew him. 

    He married  Cynthia J. Livingston Shultis on May 15, 1977.  In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his three dear daughters, Jamie M. (Jeff) Chace of Tribes Hill, NY, Tracy L. (Steven) Wright of Schenectady, NY and Kristen L. Shultis of Amsterdam. Four siblings, Bonnie (Bernie) Duszkiewicz, Brian (Beth Tesi) Shultis, Barbara (Dan) Berry and Scott (Ann) Shultis. Cherished grandchildren, Davin S. Chace, Zane F. Chace, Kenadie J. Wright, Audrey L. Wright and Noah N. Wright.  A brother-in-law, James A. Livingston, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.   

     The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday June 12, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00PM  at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.   There will be no formal funeral service.  The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Unit 1, Latham, NY 12110 or to the Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
