Obituary of Carol A. Snyder Buddles

Carol A. Snyder Buddles, R.N., 66, died peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021 following a long illness, surrounded by her family at home.  Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 23, 1954 she was the daughter of the late Edward O. Snyder and Anna Mae Parry Snyder.

A lifelong area resident, Carol graduated from Fonda- Fultonville Central School and went on to attend Hudson River School of Nursing.  Carol served as a Registered Nurse for Amsterdam Memorial Hospital for many years before going to work for New York Oncology Hematology.  Carol also provided care to her Dad so that he could remain home and independent for many years.  She had a zest for life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her companion, Robert “Bud” Norton; her siblings, Linda L. Snyder of Schenectady, NY, Mark E. Snyder and his wife Mary Beth of Scotia, NY and Glenn A. Snyder and his wife Ann of Tribes Hill, NY; her “sisters of the heart”, Joan Duffy and Debbie Arndt Allred; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 6p.m. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating.  Calling hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 4p.m. at the funeral home.  Relatives and friends are all invited to attend.  Masks are required. 

A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 10:30a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill.

Carol strived to provide companionate care to her patients.  She especially enjoyed her time working on the pediatric unit at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.  In keeping with her spirit, please consider donating in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org
