Obituary of Catherine Mayette Clemente

Mrs. Catherine Mayette Clemente, age 98, of Gloversville, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
She was born August 17, 1922 in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of the late David and Katherine Casavoy Mayette.  She is survived by her sisters Agnes Everleth and Margaret Richmond.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed welcoming anyone into her home with a smile.  Catherine gave of herself unselfishly to family, friends and to others in need.  There are so many generous and unselfish acts she held closely in her heart for only Our Lord to see.  Catherine especially enjoyed holidays.  She greeted with happiness everyone to wonderful celebrations of food and conversation.  It is fitting that her last Christmas was with nearly all her children.  She was surrounded with so much love and wonderful memories.
Catherine was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit, formerly Mount Carmel Church in Gloversville, New York and its Women's Society.  She particularly loved contributing to and attending many of the charitable events.  She so much appreciated Holy Communion being brought to her by Jamin Clemente in her later years.
She is survived by seven children, Carmine Clemente, Marsha Clemente Orndorff, Patricia Clemente Huckans, Michael Clemente, Elizabeth Clemente, Stephen Clemente, Anthony Clemente; Twenty-one grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John L. Clemente in 2005; her eleven-month old baby daughter, Jeannette Marie Clemente, a son, Jeffery John Clemente and her daughter, Carol Clemente Phair.
A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville. A Celebration of Life will take place at the time of interment in the spring at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. 
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Church of the Holy Spirit, St. Jude, or a charity of your choice.
