Obituary of Therese Laura Mercier

Ms. Therese Laura Mercier, age 64, of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday December 14, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.

She was born April 14, 1955 in Rumford, Maine the daughter of the late Ernest and Juliette Roy Mercier. She was a 1976 graduate of Rumford High School, Maine, where she resided until moving to New York in 1992.

Therese was of the Catholic faith. She had admirations of becoming a Nun.

Therese is survived by her son Michael Mercier Nickerson of Gloversville, a brother Robert Uebrick (Joyce) of Broadalbin, and a dear friend and “angel” of the family Megan Lauria of Gloversville.

In addition to her parents, Therese was predeceased by her longtime companion Dale Wilbur Nickerson, who recently passed December 9, 2019 in Rumford, Maine.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00PM to 6:00PM, Thursday December 19, 2019 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will follow at 6:00PM with the Fr. Don Czelusniak officiating.

Cremation will follow the funeral services.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, 99 E. State St. Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the Brennan Humane 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd, Gloversville, NY 12078, or charity of your choice in her name.

The Mercier family would like to thank the staff of Nathan Littauer Nursing Home for their care and compassion during her stay at her “home” where everyone became part of our family.
