Obituary of Gary M. Groves

Mr. Gary M. Groves of Water Street, Johnstown, NY passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 surrounded by his family.  Born in Gloversville, NY on March 24, 1945 he was the son of the late George and Marguerite Wilder Groves.

A lifelong area resident, Gary attended local schools.  He was employed for several years for Kem Cleaners on Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his son, Brad Groves; and a brother Fred Groves

Survivors include his five children, Edward (Stacy) Harris of North Carolina, Earl (Laurie) Harris of Epratah, Mary (Steven) Hinkle of Johnstown, Tammie Groves of Gloversville, and Gary (LeeAnn) Groves of Gloversville; one sister, Barbara Whitman of Florida; sixteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 4p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY.  Calling hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 2p.m.  All are invited to attend.  Please visit the online memorial at www.brbsfuneral.com
