Dear Patty and all of George's family, we are so sorry to hear of George's passing. He was such a loving man, and know he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. We were away or we would have paid our respects. We know George and Breta and all of their deceased loved ones are now together again. May they rest in peace! Thoughts and prayers to the entire Rossi and extended families. Reflecting back over the past 35+ years, we can recall a litany of "Chief George", "Papa Rock" memories with the family at the Perth Fire Co.
All of these reflections included a smile, positive, upbeat greeting - always asking how you are doing, and how is the family –no matter how his day was. Being there to lean on, ask a question and share his views on a related topic.
Glad to have the opportunity to serve under Chief George as I moved up the ranks in the fire company – to one day following in his footsteps as Chief of the Department. "You made me proud"
Thank you for the friendship, memories, guidance, mentoring and support over the years! Yes you and I did things “My-Way” as the Sinatra song lyrics go.
A Fire Chiefs prayer:
Give Me Concern
A willingness to seek out those in need
Give Me Courage
The boldness of spirit to face and conquer fear,
share and endure the ordeal of other in need.
Give Me Strength
Strength of heart, to bear whatever burden
might be placed on me and strength of body to
deliver safely all those placed in my care
Give Me Wisdom to Lead
The Compassion to comfort, and the love to serve unselfishly wherever you take me
And please Lord, through if all, be at my side

My heartfelt condolences to George and Breta's family. My dear mother, Marge Dence, was a close family member and we spent many happy times with them.
George is now resting in heaven with dear Breta and you will begin to heal knowing God is looking over them.
So sorry for your loss.
