Obituary of Albert Rocklin
Albert "Rocky" Rocklin, 76, of Old Sprakers Road passed away on Wednesday July 18, 2018 with his wife by his side.
Rocky was born on June 28, 1942 in the Town of Root and was the son of the late John and Florence Rocklin. A lifelong area resident, Rocky graduated from Canajoharie High School and was employed at Ames Department store, later he went on to work at Beech Nut Factory.
Rocky was united in marriage to Elsie Beam on August 16, 1995. A family man Rocky loved his friends and neighbors, often clearing their driveways in the winter and cutting their lawns in the spring. He loved playing the guitar, and being in the great outdoors, spending his days fishing and hunting, and could always be found in the kitcken baking his famous Chocolate Jumbos. Rocky will be remembered for his cookies, his kind demeanor, and his whole-hearted belief that everyone was his family.
Rocky leaves behind his wife of 23 years Elsie Rocklin, daughter Tammy (Hugh) Bresee, step daughters; Brenda Merrill (Tim Marchinda), Nadine (Jack) Serfass, and step son David Kessler (Paula Shirvanion), brother Joseph Surnear, and sister Betsy Surnear, as well as 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Rocklin, sister Pearl Clark and step daughter Tammy Kessler.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, July 23 at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Burial will take place following services at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery. Guests are invited to call prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock in the morning.
