Obituary of Anna Ruback
Mrs. Anna "Ann" Ruback, age 106, of Smithtown, Long Island, New York, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at the Smithtown Center for Rehab and Nursing Care in Long Island.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 19, 1912 a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Jecauskas Vitus. She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam until moving to Long Island to be close to family several years ago.
Ann was employed for over 25 years as a Seamstress at the former Hannover Dress Shop in Amsterdam retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Horace J. Inman Senior Citizens Center in Amsterdam and was a communicant of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church and most recently St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam.
She is survived by her Son-in-law, Jack Winters Sr. of Smithtown, NY. Her cherished grandchildren, Catherine (Christopher) Ascoli of Smithtown, NY and Jack (Marion) Winters of Smithtown, NY. Great-Grandchildren, Jack and Audrey Winters and Amanda Ascoli. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Barbara Winters on December 2, 2000.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 11:15AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main St., Amsterdam with Father Jeffrey M. L'Arche, M.S. as celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the Funeral Mass on Tuesday at the Church beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main St., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
