Our deepest condolences. I have been caregiver for a dear friend this year, who died in July, and was mostly away from news. I have mentioned Brian so many times the past few months and just now came upon the news of his passing in an email post honoring his accomplishments. My heart, still broken from so much grief, now must add another.
Brian was such a good friend to Johnson Hall and so supportive of its many events, always smiling, always present, always part of the community he loved and among the friends he loved. We had the privilege of so many instances of his kindness, caring, and good graces. He will be so missed.
All the memories everywhere we look will continue to comfort and sustain and I know those we love are still watching and waiting for us. Our blessings to all of you!
Love,
Wanda and Ron Burch

Anita,
Please know how sorry I am to hear of Brian's passing. I remember when I worked for him at Johnstown McDonald's and especially the time he drove the FMCC van to Montreal with your students myself included and how he made us laugh.
No doubt this is a hard time for you, stay strong in knowing how much impact he had on a lot of young peoples lives.

Where does one begin to express their heartfelt condolences and sincerest sympathy to a family whose husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin was, and will always be, remembered as one of the kindest, most thoughtful and sincerest individuals.
Brian hired me and gave me my first job back in 1982 as a high school teenager. I never imagined or planned on remaining with McDonald's after college but working for someone of his stature led me to rethink my thoughts. Thirty six years later and still with McDonald's I consider myself fortunate to have worked for Brian and will forever be grateful to not only have had the opportunity to work for him and learn from him but more so to have known him and have him as a "friend".
I could go on and on with accolades that would fill many pages but wanted Anita and the family to know that Michele and I will always hold a special place in our heart for Brian.
With our heartfelt sympathy,
Larry and Michele Folmsbee

My first job was at the McDonald’s in Johnstown where I worked from age 16 to 18. It was a wonderful experience for many reasons, one of them being that I saw firsthand what success as a franchise owner-operator looked like. Brian was a kind, intelligent boss who often came in the store and was always encouraging and supportive. I so appreciated (and still do) all the good he did for the community and his employees. I am so sorry for his family’s loss.

Brian was my first employer but as anyone who knew him can attest, he quickly grew into someone I greatly respected and admired as much more than that. He was always quick to assist where ever needed and always did so with a smile. He was also quick with praise and advice when it was most needed.
Whenever I think of Brian, I always count my self fortunate that such an amazing person was brought into my world. He taught me to give back and participate In my local community. I will be indebted to him for many valuable lessons he taught, some through his words but mostly through his actions.
Thoughts and prayers to Anita and the rest of his family and numerous friends.

Anita and all the rest of Brian's family --
Condolences to you upon the MUCH-too-early loss of Brian. You will miss him dreadfully, I know, and as Phil Decker has already said, when the next RCS'67 Reunion rolls around, there will be a Big Hole, which cannot be filled by anyone else.....
Brian's accomplishments, listed in his obituary, are AMAZING.....but not surprising. We have always known him as somebody who is very quietly very, very competent; someone who cares about people and thinks the best of them; someone who is cheerful and has a lot of get-up-and go; also, a good soul.
I am so sorry for your loss. It is so sad.
