Obituary of Ronald Rickard Sr.

Mr.  Ronald  Rickard, Sr.,  63, of Sprakers, NY, passed away Wednesday May 9, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. 

     Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 14, 1954,  the son of the late Howard J. and Anna May Watson Rickard Sr.  He was a lifelong area resident and was a  1973 Graduate of Canajoharie High School. 

     Mr. Rickard was employed for over 38 years at Beech-Nut Foods in Canajoharie NY before retiring in Shipping & Receiving.

     He was a member of the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners.  He was a former member of the Charleston Fire Department.   Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing and all events that included the outdoors.  He also was an avid NASCAR Fan.  He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

     He married his High School Sweetheart, Deborah Countryman Rickard on October 9, 1976.  In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his three children,  Ronald (Bethany) Rickard of Oriskany Falls, NY, Angela (Mike Mckie) Rickard, New Berlin, NY and Kimberly Rickard of Sprakers, NY.  Cherished grandchildren, Gavin and Cullen Rickard, Nate, AJ, Kamron and Zane Mckie.   Brothers and sisters, Howard J (Cathy) Rickard Sr. of Cobleskill, NY, George (Beth) Rickard of Bismarck, North Dakota, Stephen (Claudia) Rickard of Stamford NY, Kathleen (Charles) McMullen of Sprakers, NY. and Barbara (Eli) Hall of Amberson, PA.  Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

      Funeral services will be held on Monday May 14, 2018 at 11:00A.M. at the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners , 1380 East Lykers Rd., Sprakers NY with Pastor Brett Popp presiding.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.  Cremation is in Vale Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady, NY.
