Obituary of Geraldine G. Didziulis

Mrs. Geraldine G. Didziulis of Hagaman Avenue, Hagaman, NY died peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018.  She was 91.

A lifelong area resident, she was born on December 14, 1926 the daughter of the late George and Mary Digan Gagen.  She was a 1943 graduate of St. Mary’s Institute.  Geraldine was employed by various companies before going to work for Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, where she retired in 1989.

She was a devout Catholic.  Geraldine also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.  On October 5, 1963 she was united in marriage to Joseph Didziulis.  That union lasted 35 years until his passing on July 2, 1998.  She was also predeceased by her siblings Jane Sykes and Ruth Tracy.

Survivors include two children, Joseph Didziulis and his wife Lori of Amsterdam, NY and John Didziulis and his wife Shannon of Troy, NY; one granddaughter, Katrina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10 o’clock at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, 51 N. Pawling Street, Hagaman, NY with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Burial will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
