Obituary of Patricia H. Blood

Patricia H. "Natty" "Smanth" Blood, 79, of Albany,  formerly of Amsterdam, NY, passed away Sunday April 29, 2018 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady with her loving family at her side.

     Born in Amsterdam,  NY on October 22, 1938 the daughter of Floyd and Margaret Teabout Blood.  She was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of  1956.    Patricia  was employed as a clerk  for the Albany County  Department of Social Services in Albany, NY retiring in 1997.

      Following her retirement she was employed part-time for over fifteen years at the “Bottoms Up Bar” as a bartender in Albany.    She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and watching soap operas.   She loved giving to the “Save The Children Fund” knowing that she was helping children in need. 

         Survivors include sisters, Beatrice K. Blood of Schenectady and Margaret Beekman of Amsterdam,  brothers,  Dr. George Herring of Oakland, CA and Martin Blood of York S.C.   Her lifelong friend, Mary Smith of Albany, NY.    Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.   She was predeceased by a daughter,  Toni Lyvette Blood in 1957.  She is also predeceased by brothers, Charles Herring, Robert Herring, Paul Herring, Thomas Blood, and a sister, Charlene Blood-Ellison.

    The family would like to thank Ellis Hospital ICU Doctors, Nurses and staff for the wonderful care given to Patricia.   

     Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 9, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Fairview Cemetery, Steadwell Ave, Amsterdam, NY in Section 9 of the cemetery with Rev.
