Obituary of Robert C. Serviss

Robert C. Serviss, age 67, of Northville, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Emergency Room, Gloversville. He was born November 10, 1950 in Gloversville, the son of Richard and Jean (Salomon) Serviss. He was a 1970 graduate of Mayfield Central School and following graduation he enlisted in the US Navy where he served for two years. He was later employed as a prison guard by the New Hampshire Prison System and upon he his retirement he returned to the Fulton County area. Bob enjoyed building furniture as a hobby and spending time with his family. He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Jo-Ann Kline and her daughter Courtney Smith of Northville; a sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Thobaben of Gloversville; a brother, Richard Serviss of New Orleans, LA; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Bob was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Gail Yucha. A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
