Obituary of Ann Rockovitz
Ann Rockovitz, of Gloversville, died January 25, 2018. She was born in Schenectady on May 18, 1922. Her father, David, was a baker owning his own bakery. She had five siblings, four sisters and a brother. She graduated from Gloversville High School with a diploma in business. After this she got into retail, selling accessories in her sister's stores in Proctor's Arcade. She met her husband Irving "Rocky" and married in 1943. They were happily married for sixty-one years. They ran and men's and boys' clothing store together. She had one daughter, Donna Kramer, who survives, along with two grandchildren, Elyssa Kramer and Justin Kramer and one greatgrandchild, Iain Melita. Shew was predeceased by her mother, father, siblings and husband.
Ann lived in Gloversville most of her life. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook and baker. She liked to entertain and enjoyed fashion and decorating. She was an avid reader, traveler, bowler, bridge player and golfer.
She was devoted to her Jewish life. She was a board member of the Knesseth Israel Synagogue, a life member of Hadassah and a member of the former Gloversville Jewish Community Center. She was also a member of the Nathan Littauer Hospital Women's Auxiliary.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Knesseth Israel Synagogue, 34 E. Fulton St; Gloversville. Interment will take place privately at Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Gloversville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
