Obituary of Carl E. Rivenburg
Carl E. Rivenburg, 73, of Amsterdam, NY has gone to his eternal rest on Wednesday May 11th, 2016.
Born on December 6th, 1942 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late Helen and Ralph Rivenburg. Carl graduated from St. Mary's Institute class of 1960. Carl spent over 30 years as a Graphic Arts Printer for companies such as Amsterdam Printing & Litho Co. and Crest Litho. He married the love of his life Leona Sikorski on February 9, 1964. It was a strong and beautiful union that lasted until his passing. They had started dating at age 12 and had actually been together for 60 years, married for 52.
Carl loved to watch sports with his boys and was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He loved spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his amazing sense of humor, and absolute devotion to his wife and family.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife Leona Rivenburg; His devoted daughter Mary Beth (Lance) McNeil and grandchildren Alessandra, Samantha, Tyler, Spencer and Ian McNeil; His "main man", son Carl E. (Penny) Rivenburg; His grandchildren, Megan Miller, Andrew Miller, Kyle Rivenburg, Jordan and Sydney Rivenburg; His great grandchildren Aiden and Emma; His "little sister" Elizabeth Kindar; His "big sister " Rosemary Pratt and brother in-law Leon Pratt; Carl also had a very special place in his heart for his nephew Ryan (Erin) Kindar and their sons Kason, Jacoby and Wilson, and his niece Ashley (Fran) Stinger, and their daughters Lyla and Andi-Kate.
Carl is predeceased by his parents, his treasured in-laws Leonard and Mary Sikorski, and his special lifelong friends Robert "Bob" Nethaway and his peer from across the pond, Bill Halfacre.
Arrangements for Carl have been entrusted to the staff at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. The family will receive visitors at Carl's home on Tuesday May 17th, 2016 from 5pm-7pm.
