Obituary of Rose Zeno Ossenfort

Rose Zeno Ossenfort, 95, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Born on September 28, 1920 in Amsterdam, she was one of ten children to the late Dominick and Mary Sheckton Zeno. A lifelong resident of the area and a member of the former St. Michael's the Archangel Church. On February 15, 1948 she married her loving husband, Elvyn J. "E.J." Ossenfort. Together for 47 years, they shared a beautiful marriage until his passing on December 12, 1995. Rose loved company and when they would arrive at her home, automatically the refrigerator door would open and she would start serving her company food or drinks. She loved her family and friends; she will be sadly missed. Survivors include her nephew, Lawrence D. Yannotti and step daughter, Carol Persico. Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her five brothers and four sisters and niece, Roseann Senese. A funeral service for Rose will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 1:30pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited for one hour prior to the service beginning at 12:30pm.
