Obituary of Marilyn C. Bell
Marilyn C. Bell, 84, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at home with her loving family at her side.
Born on October 12, 1931 in Amsterdam, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Clara Stowell Collins Sr. A lifelong member of the area, Marilyn attended St. Mary's Catholic School.
Marilyn worked for many years as a waitress at the previously known Brownies Restaurant. She loved listening to music, liked to dance; but she especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and all her family. Marilyn will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her loving family, children, Donald Bell Jr., Diane Neahr (Phil); her brother, Elton Collins (Stella); grandchildren, Evan Bell, David Bailey, Melissa Hoyt (Leo Jr.), Ronald Bailey Jr. (late Billie Jo Bailey), Kerri Kilgore and Joey Kilgore; great-grandchildren, Nathan Bell, Starr VanAnden, Robert and Jasmine Bailey, Kaylia McCumber, Danielle and Zander Young, Seth Ferguson, Chris, Justin and Julia Bailey, Deanna Wilty, Jacob Petruccione, Taylor and Floyd Krawczyk; great-great granddaughter, Sophia Blowers; and her special sister-in-law, Emma Collins. Marilyn is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Bell Homs; siblings, Eileen O'Brian, Katherine Liszewski, Theresa Handy, John Jr, Joseph and Charlie Collins; her granddaughter, Donna Bell Gentry.
Funeral services for Marilyn will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11am at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
