Obituary of Harry John Bobilin
Mr. Harry John Bobilin Sr., 86, of Fultonville, NY, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on Saturday, January 26, 2018.
Born on July 11, 1931 to John and Anna Becker Bobilin, he attended local schools and was a graduate of the Fultonville High School Class of 1949. On September 20, 1952 he was united in marriage to Diane Davis of Charleston, NY. It was an incredible union that lasted until her passing on September 11th, 2015.
Harry was a dedicated Dairy Farmer. He owned several businesses over the years including a feed store and a trucking business that transported cattle and horses. Harry loved bowling, he was on a bowling league for Perry Lanes in Johnstown, NY for many years. He and his wife enjoyed playing pinochle with their friends on a regular basis. He was a dedicated member of the Glen Grange. He had an incredible voice and enjoyed singing for school dances. He was known as "Happy Harry the hot dog man" during his time working for the Auriesville Shrine. Harry was very family-orientated, he loved big band music and enjoyed woodworking. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and close friends.
Harry is survived by his daughters, JoAnn (Doug) VonPless of Liverpool, NY, Doreen Bobilin (Brian Edick) of Northville, NY, and Joyce Stahl (Jon Finke) of Troy NY. His son, Harry John Bobilin Jr. of Rural Grove, NY. His sister, DaisyAnn Fredericks. His grandchildren, Patrick Bobilin, Gregory (Sue) VonPless, Leslie (Jen) VonPless, John Michael (Emily) Stahl, Dylan Henry, Karin Marshall, Christien Edick, Philiam Hernandez, Melina Conrow, and Christian Conrow. Harry was thrilled to have his 1st great grandson, Oliver James Stahl who was born on May 22nd, 2017. Harry is predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane Davis Bobilin, his daughter, Judy Conrow, his sister, Carolyn Nare, and his son-in-law Doug VonPless.
A Graveside Service for Harry will take place at Maple Ave Cemetery, Fultonville, NY 12072, during the Spring at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville NY. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the Glen Volunteer Fire Department, 134 Auriesville Rd, Fultonville, NY 12072.
