Obituary of William C. Fisk
Mr. William C. "Bill" Fisk, 94, of Happy Hollow Road, died peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2016 with his family by his side. Born in the Town of Canajoharie, he was the son of the late William and Carrie Jones Fisk.
A lifelong area resident, Bill attended local schools. He served proudly with the United States Army from 1943 until 1946, when he was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. Bill then returned home, where he owned and operated the Fisk family farm until his retirement. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion and was proud of his military service.
Bill enjoyed all facets of life. He worked hard, but also took the time to visit with people, line dance, bowl and ski. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, June Smith Fisk; one son, Henry Fisk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by all of his siblings, Millie Leip, Doris Casler, Norma Nelson and Gordon Fisk.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 36 Lydius Street, Fort Plain, NY. Burial will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery with full military honors. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
