Obituary of Thomas F. Loucks

Mr. Thomas F. Loucks, age 80, of Broadalbin,NY, passed away Monday June 13, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital following a brief illness. He was born December 13, 1935 in Broadalbin, the son of Frank and Mildred Ross Loucks. Mr. Loucks was a lifelong resident of the area and attended local schools. Before retirement he was a Paving Foreman for the Saratoga County Highway Department for many years. Tom will best be remembered for his Creations on Wheels wooden model making. His ability to take a piece of wood and turn it into anything from a baby rattle to a functioning well-driller, skidder, backhoe or carousel horse was absolutely astounding. People would bring him a picture of a piece of heavy equipment and before long he had created a "working" replica. His creations have been sent to several states, Canada and abroad- they will be cherished for a long, long time. Tom will be missed greatly by his family and many long time friends..."Pull up a chair and visit for awhile." Thomas is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia C. (Brown) Loucks of Broadalbin, NY. Two loving daughters, Deanne C. Loucks of Broadalbin, NY and Elizabeth J. Loucks of Gloversville, NY. One dear son, Frank Thomas Loucks of Broadalbin, NY. One sister, Celia Streifert of Perth, NY. Two cherished grandchildren, Paul Wieland and Tiffany Wieland. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Thurber. Services will be held at a later date.
