Obituary of Larry H. Snyder

Larry H. Snyder, 90 of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away June 18, 2016. He was born November 14, 1925 in Amsterdam, NY to Lawrence H. and Isabel (Stanley) Snyder and was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II in the European Theater. He was a member of the 20th Armored Division, 412th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. Larry earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School (Go Blue!) and was a longtime Columbus, Ohio lawyer. He was a past president and active member of the Athletic Club of Columbus as well as Downtown Rotary. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Patti Harrison Snyder in 2008 as well as his (older!) brother, William F. Snyder. He is survived by his children, Cynthia R. Snyder, William A. Snyder and Melinda R. Snyder (Aaron Epstein);grandchildren, Lydia H. and Harrison P. Zaye, Adeline G. Osgood, Peter A. Snyder and Ian L. Epstein;sisters-in-law, Mary Colleen Snyder of Rocky River, OH and Barbara Harrison of Circleville. Larry also leaves many wonderful nieces and nephews, whom he greatly enjoyed at family gatherings. The Snyder family is also grateful for Mark Tayim, and his devoted friendship over the years. At Larry's request all services will be private and he will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canine Companions for Independence, North Central Regional Center, Delaware, OH in his memory.
