Obituary of Roy C. Brasmeister

Mr. Roy C. Brasmeister Sr., 71, of Hilltop Road, Pattersonville died peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2016 surrounded by his family at Ellis Hospital. Born on March 30, 1945 he was the son of the late Charles H. Brasmeister and Violet Moltrup Brasmeister. A lifelong area resident, Roy attended local schools and was a graduate of Schalmont High School. Roy was retired from the Schenectady City School District as a custodian. He was a hard worker and loved his family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed being a woodworker and was a member of the Eagle Aerie #514 in Schenectady. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his mom, Violet; his wife, Patricia; five children, Violette (Darren) DeSantis of PA, Kelly (James) Harrington of Rotterdam, Tina (Heath) Cieszynski of Duanesburg, Roy C. Brasmeister Jr. of Duanesburg and Ezekiel Brasmeister of Duanesburg; two siblings, Douglas Brasmeister and Shirley Karachesky; seven grandchildren, Cristina, Patricia, Elise, Kyle, Kayley, Katelynn and Gary; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Burial will follow in the Van Vechten Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral beginning at 10a.m. at the funeral home.
