Obituary of Richard Heiser

Canajoharie, NY-Mr. Richard Heiser, age 88, of Canajoharie, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, July 11, 2016 at Albany Medical Center, Albany. At the time of his passing he had the love and support of his family at his side. He was born October 28, 1927 in Canajoharie, son of the late Herbert and Cora (Schuster) Heiser and educated in Canajoharie schools. He was united in marriage to Jacenia L. Sweet at Salem United Methodist Church, Stone Arabia on Dec. 1, 1951; she passed away on January 24, 2001 after a loving and devoted union of 49 years. Mr. Heiser owned and operated the family dairy farm, named the Evolution Farms in Canajoharie. Mr. Heiser was loyal and educated farmer and held farming close to his heart. Above all, he truly enjoyed being in the presence of loved ones. He belonged to the Canajoharie/Ft. Plain Elks Lodge #2621 and a former member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Survivors include his loving family; his children, Stephen Heiser and wife Tammy of Fort Plain, Jason Heiser and wife Linda of Canjoharie, and Scott Heiser and wife Debbie of Canajoharie; grandchildren, Kristy McFee (Todd), Matthew Heiser (Meghan), Benjamin Heiser (Jamie Duke), Maggie Clark (Jeremy), Jennifer Youngblood (Clay), Steven St. Pierre; great grandchildren, Morgan, Grace, Marley, Maycee, Aiden, and Hannah; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by siblings, Florence, Fayette, Everett and Raymond. The family will receive relatives and friends at Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. The funeral will commence at 6 p.m. also on Thursday, July 14th with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman, officiating. Procession will follow to Ft. Plain Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife. Kindly consider memorial offerings to the Canajoharie/Ft.
