Obituary of Gloria Sparks

Amsterdam, NY , Gloria Sparks, 85, of Sanford Avenue, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at her home with her loving family at her bed side. Born July 26, 1930 in Amsterdam, New York she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Rose White. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and she graduated from St. Mary's Institute. Gloria was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family, taking care of her home and her pets. She was a Parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and member of the Red Hat Society. Gloria was a lifelong Met's Baseball fan. She is survived by her husband Walter Sparks; two sons, Jimmy Sparks of Amsterdam and David (Karin) Sparks of College Station, Texas. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at 11:15 AM at the St. Mary's R.C. Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with the Fr. Jeffrey L'Arche as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. There will be no calling hours.
