Dick,
It has been a long time since we took classes together at GHS. I was sorry to learn that you dad had passed and had hoped to get to the visiting hours, but relatives showed up this afternoon. Howard's last wife, Betty Suits, was a very good friend of my mothers as both were active at North Main Street Church. I retired 4 years ago after having been a high school math teacher for 45 years mostly in northwestern Connecticut. We currently live in New Milford, CT. However, we spend summers at the log cabin that my dad built in the 1940s on the south shore of Mountain Lake north of Gloversville and will be there until after Labor Day. (Mountain Lake is off of Route 309 just before you get to Bleecker.) If you are in the area before or after the funeral, give me a call at 518-725-6615 and it would be great to see you.
Be thankful that you had your dad for 72 years. I lost my mother in 1976 and my dad in 1983, and wish I had been able to talk with them much longer and wish I had asked many questions that only they knew.
