Obituary of Hazel B. Frank
Mrs. Hazel B. Wilder Frank, age 100 of Gloversville, died Friday evening, January 28, 2005 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
She was born October 15, 1904 in Johnstown, the daughter of Charles and Cora Hurd Wilder. She was employed by the former Lisman Hat Company and the former Madam Christine Hat Company, and by the Robison & Smith Cleaners, all of Gloversville.
Mrs. Frank was a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member of the EFW Class of the former Fremont Street United Methodist Church, and a member of the former Lydian Circle. She was a former Children's Choir Mother for many years at the church, and also a member of the Ida McGuinness Senior Citizens Club.
She was married in 1936 to Clarence Frank who died in 1957.
Mrs. Frank is survived by a nephew, Theodore Leonard, Sr. of Worcester, MA, whose wife Winifred Webster Leonard died in 1996. Also surviving are grand nieces and a grand nephew Katherine Leonard Mercadante, Theodore E. Leonard, Jr. and Linda Leonard Lockwood and several great grand nieces and great grand nephews, and cousins.
Hazel and her family were honored to have the assistance of Hazel's dear friends Mae Dixie Gifford and June A. Muddle. Their help, compassion and commitment for Hazel will always be remembered.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Wayne E. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will take place at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
