Obituary of Antonio Arminio
Antonio Arminio 82, of Fultonville passed away Sunday morning at the Wells House in Johnstown after a long illness.
Born Feb. 2, 1923 in Fultonville where he lived his entire life, he was the son of Michele and Lottie Mae Contine Arminio. He was first employed for the NY Central Railroad for a time and later he began his career as an electrician for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1249 out of Syracuse. This job and the union meant a great deal to Antonio.
He retired in 1985.
During World War II he proudly served with the US Army as Tech. 5th grade and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the former Fonda Fultonville American Legion.
He was a member of the Fonda Fultonville United Methodist Church. Antonio loved Go-Cart racing with his children and for a short time was a late- model stock car racer at the Fonda Speedway. He enjoyed making his own home movies and traveling. He will be dearly loved and greatly missed.
On August, 6th 1948 he was united in marriage to the former Esther McClary.
In addition to his wife, his loving family includes his sons; Michael DawnArminio of Amsterdam; David Rosanna Arminio of Johnstown, Joseph Arminio of Fonda and Richard Arminio of Schenectady. His daughter Susan Douglas Soulia of Rotterdam; Five grandchildren; Scott Arminio, April Olsen, Amy Courtoies, Kristin and Lauren Soulia. Three great grandchildren, Cody Arminio, Connor Courtoies, Taylor Olsen, and one more who will arrive with in the next month. Antonio was predeceased b all off his siblings: Robert Arminio, Florence Adams, Mary Langlois, Susan Harrington, and Rose Marie Galarza. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A service will take place Wednesday at 10am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street Fultonville. The Rev. Nancy Pullen officiating. Interment is in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wells House, Johnstown, or the charity of one?s choice.
