Obituary of John Migliavacca

John Migliavacca, 85, of Gloversville NY, died Saturday, February 12 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. Mr. Migliavacca was born September 9, 1919 in Northville, NY, the son of Guiseppe and Pierina Migliavacca. For many years, he worked as a shaver at Glove City Tannery & Braiding Co. in Gloversville. He was a long-time member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. Mr. Migliavacca is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Gloversville, and three children: Robert Migliavacca and his wife Sandra of Gloversville, John Migliavacca and his wife Carole of Leesburgh, Florida, and Kathy Gulick and her husband Robert of Fruitland Park, Florida. Two grandsons, Michael Gulick and Shane Migliavacca also survive. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Freemont Street, Gloversville. A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 16 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 a.m.. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Johnstown in the spring.
