Obituary of Gladys Ludwin
Gladys Ludwin, age 78 of Gloversville NY, died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. Mrs. Ludwin was born August 1, 1926 in Gloversville, the daughter of Walter and Iva Swart Marlitt. She was educated in the Gloversville schools, and worked for a time for Fulton County Meals on Wheels. She was a homemaker and long-time member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel church. She was married for many years to John Ludwin, who died in 1977. A son, James Ludwin, died in 2004.
She will be fondly remembered for her love of bingo and selfless devotion to her family.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Betor of Gloversville, and Kathleen Mac Farlane of Schenectady, and sons John Ludwin Jr. of Latham, and Stephen Ludwin of Malta. She is also survived by her sister Violet Frye of Broadalbin, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted at 11:15 a.m. Saturday. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at noon at St. Mary Of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville. The Rev. Paul Butler will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorial donations are requested to the charity of your choice
