Obituary of Mildred Ochampaugh Sweet
Mildred Ochampaugh Sweet, 90, former resident of Baronial Heights, Johnstown, New York, died Sunday evening at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home where she has resided for the past 12 years.
Born March 29, 1914 in Fonda, New York, she was the daughter of Harry and Lelah Ingersol Ochampaugh. She was a Fonda High School graduate and attended Oneonta College.
Mildred was a homemaker and was a member of the Fonda Reformed Church.
She loved to travel throughout the world and enjoyed going out with her friends the lunch bunch.
A number of years ago she was married to Dexter M. Sweet who died in 1976.
Survivors include; a brother Albert H. Ochampaugh of Schenectady; a sister, Lettie Stannard and her husband Bob of Wellington, Ohio; a sister- in- law, Ida Ochampaugh of Fultonville; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was predeceased by her brother, Elwyn I. Ochampaugh who died January 1, 2005 New Years Day.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Fultonville, NY with the Rev. Christopher De Graaf officiating. Entombment will take place in the family mausoleum in Maple Avenue Cemetery in Fultonville. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
