Obituary of Catherine Lasher
Miss Catherine Lasher, 80, of State Highway 30A, Fultonville passed away Tuesday morning at St. Marys Hospital, Amsterdam.
Born on January 3, 1925 in Ft. Plain, NY she was the daughter of Eugene and Elizabeth Crouse Lasher. She was a lifelong area resident living in her home in the Town of Glen for over the past 20 years.
Miss Lasher attended the seniors program at Liberty Day Treatment in Amsterdam, and assisted with the Ft. Plain Girl Scouts. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister Anna Lasher and listening to polka music.
Miss Lasher attended the Glen Reformed Church.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Howard Lasher; and two sisters, Tresa LaValley and Betty Austin.
Survivors include her sister, Anna Lasher of Amsterdam; a niece Caroline Frasier; a nephew, Gary LaValley; her Liberty family of caregivers, special friends John, and Murray and other housemates; and several other nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie. Burial will take place in the Ft. Plain Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Liberty Foundation, P. O. Box 515, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
