Obituary of Gwendolyn Rostron

Mrs. Gwendolyn Cam Rostron, age 92, died peacefully on Thursday morning February 24, 2005 at Crouse Community Center, Morrisville, NY, where she had resided the past two years. A longtime Gloversville resident, she had also lived at Limestone Gardens in Manlius for several years. She was born June 22, 1912 in Gloversville, NY, the daughter of Ernest and Maude Cam. A graduate of Gloversville High School, she worked as a bookkeeper at the former Shine Enterprises in Gloversville, and also as a bank teller at the former Fulton County National Bank and Trust Company, also in Gloversville. Mrs. Rostron was a member of Fremont Street United Methodist Church, Gloversville. On October 21, 1933 she married Edward J. Rostron who died March 30, 1995. Survivors include two children, David Rostron and his wife Judy of Albany, NY and Linda Spanburgh and her husband John of Manlius, NY; a sister Doris Williamson and her husband John of Sun City, Florida; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several neices, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Wayne E. Jones Sr. officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
