Obituary of Mary F. Guiffre

Mrs. Mary F. Guiffre, 96, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away on Sunday February 4, 2018 at the River Ridge Living Center, LLC, Amsterdam. She was born August 1, 1921 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Josephine DeSina and Joseph Crisalli. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended Amsterdam Schools. Mrs. Guiffre worked for many years at Fownes Glove Co. in Amsterdam as a seamstress retiring from there. Mary was a communicant of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Church and a member of the St. Michael's Seniors. She married her loving husband of 67 years, Frank Guiffre Sr. on September 1, 1940. He passed away on November 29, 2007. Survivors include her son Frank T. Guiffre Jr. and his wife Dawn of Amsterdam, NY. Six Grandchildren, Laurie (Mike) Smith, Frank (Ariel) Guiffre III, Monica (Dan) Pollock, Ronald Klock Jr., Shawna Garber and Donna Abbattisti. Great-grandchildren, Jared, Tommy, Miles, Evelyn, Joshua, Ron III, Rachel, Kayla, Emery and Caleb. A Sister, Lucy Bator of Rome, NY, sister-in-law, Mary Marrone and brother-in- law, Joe Guiffre. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mary was predeceased by thirteen brothers and sisters. She was also predeceased by her dear friend's Vera and Vinny Fusco and Sal and Edie Landrio. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Interment will be in the Spring in St. Michael's Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday prior to the funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at the funeral home.
