Obituary of Betty J. Yowell Dimick

Betty J. Yowell Dimick, 59 years old of Gulfport, Florida, died Monday at her home. She was born March 17, 1945 in Amsterdam, NY, a daughter of Russell and Lois Rivenburg Yowell. Betty was educated in Amsterdam schools and was of the Lutheran faith. She moved to Florida in 1978 where she had since resided. Betty was employed by Silor Optical for many years and by Polaris Electrical for the past 2 years. She had also worked as a Home Health Aide for many years. Betty was married to Gene Dimick. He died in 2002. She is survived by three sons: Kenneth Miller of Martinsburg, W. Virginia, David Corsette and Brad Dimick of Gulfport, Florida; her brother John Yowell and his wife Sharon, of Rocklin, CA; two sisters: Virginia DiScenza and her husband Frank, of Amsterdam, and Doris Wehrman and her husband Tom, of Bethel, Conn.; two grandchildren, six nieces and six nephews. Betty was predeceased by two brothers; Robert and Richard Yowell. Funeral services will be held 7pm Friday at Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with The Rev. Robert W. Busch officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 until 7 pm Friday at the funeral home immediately preceding the funeral service.
