Obituary of Kathy Novak
Kathy H. Novak, of Bartlett Street, Amsterdam passed away at St. Mary?s Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
Born in Amsterdam she was the daughter of Basil and Sophie Jusko Hryhorow. Mrs. Novak attended local schools.
Mrs. Novak was employed by the New York State Thruway Authority as a toll collector until her retirement. Prior to this she was employed as a clerk and typist at the old Navy Depot, and at one time as a setter at the Bigelow-Sanford Mills until they relocated.
Mrs. Novak was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Amsterdam, a member of St. Mary?s Seniors, Club 60, St. Casimir?s Seniors, Sterling Care, and the P.N.A.
Mrs. Novak was married to Anthony J. Novak on February 10, 1930 at St. Stanislaus Church. He passed away on November 24, 1960.
Mrs. Novak was also predeceased by a brother, Peter Harow and two sisters, Anna Konieczka and Helen Curtis.
Survivors include one daughter, Elaine Orsini of Amsterdam; one sister, Rose Lis of Amsterdam; and three grandchildren: Thomas Orsini and his wife Barbara of Delmar, NY, Elizabeth Bottisti and her husband Nick of Fort Johnson, NY, and Christopher Orsini and his wife Wendy of Tequesta, FL. Five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 10:30 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Cornell St., Amsterdam with the Rev. David Mickiewicz officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Amsterdam. A Calling hour will precede the service from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
