Obituary of Howard G. Van Avery
Howard G. Van Avery, 87, of Logtown Rd., Town of Glen, NY passed away Monday March 21, 2005 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness.
Born in the Town of Johnstown, NY a son of Clarence and Grace Wilson Van Avery. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Town of Glen Schools.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Van Avery was a Family Dairy Farmer in the Town of Glen, NY for many years. He later worked at the White Mop Wringer Company in Fultonville, NY until his retirement.
He was of the Protestant Faith.
He married Katherine Blunck Van Avery on February 11, 1952, she passed away May 9, 1991.
Survivors include-
Two Daughters- Sandra Lais and her husband Richard of Ft. Hunter, NY
& Ruth Ann Kilmartin of Randall, NY
Two Grandsons- Richie Knudsen of Ft. Hunter, NY
and Adam Kilmartin Jr. of Randall, NY
Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive, along with his faithful cat, Hairy.
Mr. Van Avery was pre-deceased by a daughter Virginia Van Avery in 1961, Two Brothers-Arnold and Austin Van Avery and a Sister Virginia Paul.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 25, 2005 at 11:00A.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY with the Rev. R.W. Williams presiding. Interment will be in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, NY. The Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday March 24, 2005 from 4-7P.M. at the funeral home.
