Obituary of John J. Roantes

John J. Roantes, age 45, of 220 N. Perry St., Johnstown NY, died Monday, March 28 at Albany Medical Center in Albany. Mr. Roantes was born November 30, 1959 in Oceanside, NY, and was a graduate of Uniondale High School in Uniondale, Long Island. He served in the Second Marine Battalion Radio Division of the United States Marine Corps for twelve years. He also worked in construction and was a foreman for Keymark Corp. in Fonda for several years. He was a longtime area resident, moving to Johnstown from Caroga Lake in 1998. He will be remembered as a hard worker with strong family ties, and a very devoted father. Mr. Roantes is survived by two children, Justin Roantes of Johnstown and Jennifer Roantes of Glen Burnie, Maryland. He is also survived by his mother Jean Brownlee of Caroga Lake, brothers William and Wayne Roantes, both of Edgewater, Maryland, Tony Roantes and Scott Roantes Brownlee of Caroga Lake, sisters Sharon Shreve of Old Town, Florida, Vivienne McLoughlin of Caroga Lake, and Jeanine Arrunategui of Johnstown, his former wife Toni Roantes, and several nieces and nephews.
